-Surveyor CAD (Includes Walk-Around Drawing)

Note: Surveyors must submit field drawings (including a Walk-Around Drawing) which document ALL required SOW information. Surveyors must produce hand-drawn documentation of all elements listed in the project SOW tables below. All information must be clear, neat, and complete. Surveys will be considered incomplete if they do not meet these standards.

Your “Walk-Around” drawing must meet the following requirements:
-Must be hand-drawn and inclusive of all surveyed spaces.
-Must indicate ALL dimensions, including overalls, incrementals, doors, mullions and windows.
-Must include T-Grid starts at each separate grid system.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The “Walk-Around” drawing is required for all projects. No Exceptions.

The following colors must be used for all field drawings (see example field drawings):

-Black - floor plan background (walls, doors, windows, etc)
-Red - dimensions (horizontal)
-Green - all heights (vertical dims)
-Blue - all MEP, RCP, furniture, etc.

Surveyors are required to provide an electronic (.dwg) floor plan drawing which meets the following requirements:
-Electronic drawing must include all walls, columns, doors, windows, soffit/ceiling lines, and t-grid lines.
-Drawings are to be drawn in model space at full scale.
-The floor plan must be oriented with the main entry door at the bottom or to the right of the page.
-Surveyor CAD must meet the following requirements:
-Produced with an Autodesk product (AutoCAD, AutoSketch)
-Surveyors must guarantee the accuracy of their CAD.
-Object snaps must be used.
-Only object/symbol blocks provided by FSU in project templates are permitted.
-CAD lines must be straight (unless actual conditions differ).
-CAD lines must meet cleanly (snapped).
-Duplicate lines must be purged from the CAD.
-Door openings must be cut from walls.
-Window mullion detail must be drawn in CAD.

Note: These fields are used in determining whether a survey is on or behind schedule. Each # is the # of days required for the remaining tasks to be completed before the due date.

Note: When the Project is a Scan to CAD deliverable, You must enter Revit Modeling days and Revit QC days with CAD Drafter days and CAD QC days later on the timeline. Example: Revit Modeling 12 days, Revit QC 7 days, CAD Drafting 4 days and CAD QC 2 days.

When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quickbase often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quickbase finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quickbase needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.

Read more about converting a column into a table.
